The above memory keepers—Frank Scigliano, Jere Borino, and Brad Carter— worked intimately with this project to share their objects that convey the town’s labor history and heritage.

In addition to working with these three memory keepers, in the summer of 2022, a team of oral historians interviewed 40 residents of Kemmerer-Diamondville. I had the pleasure of joining the team. The goal was to document this time of simultaneous boom and bust amidst the backdrop of the nuclear transition. Included pull quotes alongside objects in this site are sourced directly from those transcribed oral histories, housed and publicly accessible at the American Heritage Center.
